1948
- Witt, formerly known as A.H. Witt, Inc.
was founded in Gardena, CA by A. H. Witt.
1961
- A 20,000 sq. ft. facility was built in
Collierville, TN just east of Memphis.
1974
- The Gardena location was sold.
1975
- The first plant expansion added another
20,000 sq. ft. of space.
1978
- A. H. Witt, Inc. was purchased by Tyler
Corporation.
1980
- 15,000 sq. ft. addition was built at the
rear of the original plant.
1983
- 50,000 sq. ft. addition then gave us a
105,000 sq. ft. facility.
1985
- ARDCO, Inc.purchased A. H. Witt, Inc. in
December.
1986
- A. H. Witt, Inc. became a Division of
ARDCO, Inc. and the name was changed to
Witt.
1990
- 52,000 sq. ft. addition brought Witt to
157,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing area.
1997
- The Ardco Group of companies, including Witt,
acquired by UTC
1999
- Witt Manufacturing moves to a 200,000 sq.
ft. facility in Scottsboro, AL.
2000
- Witt Sales office moves to Memphis, TN -
Accounting and Customer Service Departments move
to Brea, CA
